Help Us Create New Beginnings for Women & Children

Women’s Property Initiatives has been creating affordable housing for women and children since 1996. We love the work that we do as we see first-hand the new beginnings that are created, and the positive flow on effects that are passed down generations, by having a safe and secure home. It all starts from here.

By including Women’s Property Initiatives in your Will, you will be helping create new beginnings and making a lifelong difference to the lives of many.

Why Make a Will

Your will represents your wishes and stipulates how your estate is to be divided among those who are important to you. It allows you to help those you value most and helps ensure those you leave behind are spared many of the complications of finalising your affairs. It also presents you with the opportunity to provide gifts to the charities close to your heart. Bequest giving is a thoughtful and welcomed source of income for all charities to continue their work from which future generations will benefit. Women’s Property Initiatives hope that you consider your favourite charity when writing your Will now, or sometime in the future.Should you require any further information, or wish to pledge a gift in your Will, please contact Women’s Property Initiatives on (03) 9664 7800, or admin@wpi.org.au

Different Ways You Can Support WPI

Leaving a gift in your will can be done in a number of ways. Gifts can be made for WPI’s general fund or a specific housing project or program. If you’re unsure about the process, you should consult a solicitor, trustee company or the Public Trustee for advice. Your solicitor or trustee company can give you more information, but in general, there are two types of gifts:

1. Residuary Gift, whereby you leave the residue of your estate after all debts and expenses have been paid, top one or more beneficiaries.

2. Pecuniary Legacy, which is a specific sum of money you wish to leave, e.g. $10,000.

3. Specific Bequest, with which you leave a particular item. An example of this would be property.

The following are examples of specific wording recommended for leaving a gift in your Will to WPI. In all cases, the most important thing is your peace of mind, so we encourage you to discuss your Will with your legal advisor.

To include Women’s Property Initiatives in your Will, you could include the following:
